Visma-owned Giant Leap Technologies lands a deal with Parqio to digitalise parking and garage access
Proptech company Parqio has entered into a strategic partnership with Giant Leap Technologies, a software company owned by Visma. Parqio can open garage gates automatically via the mobile phone, without needing to tap the phone, have a remote control or use a camera with licence-plate recognition.
Parqio and Giant Leap Technologies have entered into a partnership to automate access to shared garages for individuals and larger organisations.
Parqio is the first company in the world to have built a technology that can automatically open garage gates based on location, without users needing to tap the phone. With Parqio you can keep your existing remote-control solution, and the gate only opens for users with access to the garage. The company is a well-established solution in both residential and commercial buildings, and has opened over 20 million garage gates since it was founded in 2019.
Giant Leap Technologies is an established Norwegian software supplier within parking technology and part of the Visma group. Among other things, the company develops the parking platform Parksphere, which is used in ten countries and covers the entire value chain in parking — from camera-based registration to managing parking permits.
Through the partnership, Parqio’s garage-opening solution is connected as a central part of the Parksphere parking platform from Giant Leap Technologies. When a parking permit is created at Giant Leap, a digital key is created at the same time in the Parqio system, for a seamless experience.
“The partnership with Giant Leap Technologies means the same simple user experience for long-term rental and parking in closed facilities as there is for short-term parking with licence-plate recognition. Everything from booking and payment to driving in is now automated. It gives a seamless parking experience both for users and for organisations that manage parking.”

“For us, this partnership is about connecting the entire parking journey, from managing parking permits to the access to the facility itself. When DigitalPermit is connected directly to Parqio, operators and property players are freed from manual processes. It makes it easier to manage parking across larger portfolios, while end users get a more seamless experience.”

The connection makes it possible to automate parking and opening in everything from housing cooperatives and commercial buildings to municipal parking facilities and mobility solutions in smart cities. The partnership marks a step toward a holistic digital parking experience, where everything from permit to access happens automatically, without manual handling.
