This page explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on parqio.com, what they do, and how you control them.

In short

We use this kind of technology for two things: making the site work, and understanding how it is used. Measuring usage only happens if you say yes. If you choose "Decline", we collect no analytics data about your visit.

You can change your mind at any time – use “Change cookie consent” at the bottom of the page.

What this is about

A cookie is a small text file the site stores in your browser. We also use other forms of browser storage, such as local storage. The rules do not turn on the name: they apply to any technology that stores or retrieves information from your device, whatever it is called.

Your choice

The first time you visit, we ask for consent. We ask for two things, and you can say yes to one and no to the other: analytics and session recording.

  • Accept – you consent to both purposes, and we store cookies in your browser.
  • Decline – you refuse both. We store nothing for analytics and collect no analytics data about your visit.
  • Settings – you choose each purpose separately. Both start switched off until you turn them on yourself.
  • If you do not answer – we collect no analytics data. The banner does nothing until you have chosen.

Your choice is stored in the browser you are using, so you will be asked again in a different browser or on mobile.

Necessary for the site to work

These are stored without consent because they only remember a choice you made yourself, and are not used to follow you:

  • parqio-theme – remembers whether you chose the light or dark appearance. Stored in your browser (local storage) with no expiry date. No third party has access to it.
  • parqio.consent.replay – remembers whether you said yes or no to session recording, so we do not have to ask again. Stored in your browser (local storage) with no expiry date.
  • __ph_opt_in_out_… – remembers whether you said yes or no to analytics. Stored by PostHog in your browser (local storage) with no expiry date. It is written only once you have answered the banner.

None of these are cookies in the technical sense – the website sets no cookies of its own at all.

Analytics – requires consent

We use PostHog to understand how the site is used, so we can make it better. This only happens if you have consented.

What we record

  • Which pages you visit, and which page you came from.
  • Clicks on buttons and links, and whether you start or submit the contact form.
  • Technical information: browser type, operating system, screen size and approximate geographic location.

Session recording – a separate consent

A session recording is a reproduction of how you moved around the page: clicks, scrolling and navigation. Anything you type into a form field is masked and is not stored. This is its own purpose, which you can refuse without refusing analytics – choose “Settings” in the consent banner. If you refuse, recording never starts.

Where and for how long

  • Data is processed in the EU, by PostHog Cloud EU (eu.i.posthog.com), under a data processing agreement.
  • Your IP address is anonymised before storage.
  • Event data: 12 months. Session recordings: 30 days. After that they are deleted automatically.

What is stored in your browser

If you have consented to analytics, PostHog stores this in your browser:

  • ph_…_posthog – analytics id and session information. Stored both as a cookie and in local storage. The cookie lasts 365 days.
  • ph_…_window_id and ph_…_primary_window_exists – distinguish between open tabs. Stored in session storage and gone when you close the tab.

Session recording uses the same keys and stores nothing beyond this.

Anonymous measurement without cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count visits and measure how quickly pages load. These store nothing in your browser and do not recognise you across visits – they only give us aggregate numbers.

Content delivered by others

To show images and video, the site fetches content from:

  • Sanity – images and text content (cdn.sanity.io).
  • Mux – video (mux.com).

These set no cookies for us, but they do receive your IP address and information about your browser, because that is technically necessary to deliver the content to you.

Your rights

You can withdraw your consent at any time via "Change cookie consent" at the bottom of the page. You also have the right to access, rectify and erase personal data we process about you, and you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

Changes

We update this page when we change which tools we use or what they collect. The date at the top shows when the content was last changed.
