Why does the app need permission to use your location all the time?
Automatic opening needs your location to know when to open the gate. Without it, the app doesn’t know when you’re approaching the gate, and automatic opening won’t work.
When the app is allowed to use your location all the time, it notices when you’re approaching the gate and opens it when you’re close enough. This also works when your phone is in your pocket and the app isn’t open. On iPhone the option is called “Always”, and on Android “Allow all the time”.
Why does the app need access to motion and physical activity?
The app uses your movements to tell whether you’re driving, cycling or walking. The gate opens when you arrive by car or bike, but not when you walk towards it.
That’s why this permission must be turned on too. On iPhone it’s called “Motion & Fitness”, and on Android “Physical activity”.
Does automatic opening use a lot of battery?
No. Automatic opening is designed to use little power, so you shouldn’t notice any difference in battery life. The app only checks your location when you’re near the gate, and only for a short time.
What happens to my location data?
We follow the applicable requirements for handling your data, and all data is processed in line with the GDPR and our privacy policy.
